Local Attractions for the 2019 National Convention in Historic Billings, Montana!
Named after Fredrick H. Billings, a former president of the Northern Pacific Railroad, Billings is the largest city in Montana and nicknamed the Magic City because of its rapid growth from its founding as a railroad town in March 1882. Billings centers around the great Yellowstone River, which begins in the Yellowstone National Park and has area attractions such as Pompey’s Pillar, Pictograph Cave, the Beartooth Highway, Little Bighorn Battlefield, Chief Plenty Coups State Park, Zoo Montana, and the Yellowstone Art Museum just to name a few.
Billings features a wide array of shopping opportunities ranging from numerous unique shops and art galleries in the downtown area to a nice indoor mall, Cabelas and a 220,000 square foot Scheels with a feris wheel and a 16,000 gallon walk through salt water aquarium. You have to see it to beleive it. If you are into sports of any kind this is a must see.
